Eun-Byoul Oh
Lead Instructor & Manager
Eun-Byoul Oh is a Korean-American lead instructor and program manager at Korean Culture Center of NYC. She is a disability rights, and domestic violence support advocate. She was born in South Korea. She was born with Cerebral Palsy, and after experiencing discrimination in school, she left Korea alone to live with her aunt at the age of nine. Coming to the United States, she learned that there was a world that she can thrive in, despite her disability. While briefly returning to her family in South Korea, she experienced domestic violence and increased intolerance, leading her to return to the US to finish high school and college. She holds her undergraduate degree in political science and East Asian Studies at Columbia University. She began working at KCCNY in her college to remain connected to her Korean identity, eventually becoming the Language Program director. She loves teaching Korean language and Culture to everyone, while offering deeper insights into the culture. In the era of globalization of K-Culture, she questions what is the next step for Korea to be open to everyone.
