This holiday season brings a variety of Korean end-of-year events to the New York City community. The Korean American Association of Greater New York has been hosting events that highlight important moments in Korean history and culture. Recently, the organization presented a lecture titled “From Survival to Legacy: The Development of Korean Immigration,” which explored the historical significance of Korean immigration to the United States. The Chairman of the Association, Gwang-seok Kim, reflected on the challenges and sacrifices of many early immigrant generations and emphasized the lasting impact they have made on Korean American communities in the United States.
To start off the year with cultural celebrations, the organization is hosting its 65th Annual Gala on January 13, 2025, at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York City, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The gala will also honor 122 years of Korean immigration to the United States, recognizing a journey of resilience and growth. This will be an unforgettable evening to celebrate the vibrant legacy and future of Korean Americans.
